Arco Strings provides rich sonic ambiance for this short film in which 2022 Capitol Hill Arts Workshop Gallery Resident Artist, Billy Friebele, discusses the process behind his exhibition entitled Inversion/Submersion. This project explores the Anacostia River from shallow waters near Riverdale, MD to deeper areas near Capitol Hill using two floating video cameras to capture footage above and below the water surface simultaneously. The artist then created a series of mixed media artworks examining the intersection between technology, humans, and nature, based on what the camera recorded. The gallery at CHAW was transformed into an evolving installation, documenting life on the Anacostia River with input from the community. Video recording and editing by Billy Friebele.
